National Tree Week 2024
23rd November - 1st December 2024
National Tree Week, brought to you by The Tree Council and partners, brings together the conservation sector, volunteers and tree-lovers to mark the start of the annual tree planting season. It’s also the time we see the Cooper King team get out and plant with our charity partner, Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT), and review what we’ve all achieved over the last 12 months.
Positive Impact
We support YDMT to create woodlands of all shapes and sizes, connect wildlife habitats and empower people to stand up for nature. Planting trees is critical to help tackle climate change and nature loss, especially in the Yorkshire Dales where woodland cover is one of the lowest in England. By supporting YDMT’s woodland creation work, we are helping to create a richer landscape.
YDMT’s charity partners (Cooper King included) have come together to help deliver all this in the last 12 months…
Partners have supported the planting of 21,150 broadleaf trees. These trees will sequester an estimated 3,500 tonnes of carbon over the next 50 years!
Volunteers have helped to remove more than 7,000 plastic tree guards for recycling.
6,100 trees have been planted across 7 different woodlands by 154 volunteers from 13 different business supporters.
