RELEASE NOTE

This limited-edition whisky was bottled exclusively for the founding members of Cooper King Distillery*, who helped turn a daring dream into reality. It was the first single rye cask whisky ever to be released. A ballot was held for the lucky recipient of bottle #1. Distilled in 2020, the whisky was matured in a fresh rye whiskey cask from MB Roland Distillery, Kentucky. It was bottled at 4 years and 5 months old at 48% abv.

DISTILLER’S COMMENTS

“Following a cask-scouting trip to Kentucky’s renowned MB Roland Distillery, we selected a small number of rye whiskey casks to bring back to England. Cask 26 rose above the rest, with its bold, spicy and herbal notes perfectly complementing our vibrant and fruity new-make spirit. Upon maturation it unveiled layers of delicate apricot, zesty orange, cooling mint, and the soft sweetness of lemon drizzle cake, balanced by apple skin tartness, toasted coconut and a touch of oak tannin.” – Abbie Jaume, Head Distiller

TASTING NOTES

  • Nose: dried apricot, orange peel, malt and chamomile.

  • Taste: green apple, ginger, lemon peel and mint.

  • Finish: long and dry, with warming spice and toasted coconut.

  • Short: neat, or with a dash of water.
